Description

The Town Hall in The Square, Portsoy, was built in 1798 and remodelled in 1892, as indicated by the datestone. It is a single-storey, four-bay hall featuring a slightly advanced gabled bay. The exterior is harled with painted margins. The entrance, located in the extreme outer right bay, has a cornice and a plank door, with a square light above it. The advanced bay includes a pedimented window and an inscribed plaque above. All windows have multi-pane bordered glazing, and there are corniced end stacks. The roof is made of slate.
