Description

Earlier 19th century; rehabilitated 1983. Symmetrical 2-storey with attic, 3-bay plain classical style flatted house forming end of terrace with projecting central stair tower at rear; entered at front (No 32 Columshill Street) and rear (No 2 Columshill Place). Coursed Aberdeen bond rubble sandstone; raised, polished margins. Raised base course; lintel course beneath corniced eaves; pilastered quoins. Droved yellow sandstone quoins; droved long and short surrounds to openings; projecting cills. Random rubble at basement, rear and sides.

E (COLUMSHILL STREET) ELEVATION: steps to replacement small-paned door at ground in central bay; corniced doorpiece comprising block pediment, raised keystone. Single windows flanking at ground; single windows in all bays at 1st floor; single slate-hung dormers in bays to outer left and right; rooflights at centre.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; raised skews; corniced rendered apex stacks to N and S; various circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.
