32 Columshill Street, Rothesay

32 Columshill Street in Rothesay is an earlier 19th century, two-storey house with an attic, designed in a plain classical style. It is the end of a terrace and features a projecting central stair tower at the rear. The house can be accessed from both the front at No 32 Columshill Street and the rear at No 2 Columshill Place. The exterior is constructed from coursed Aberdeen bond rubble sandstone with raised, polished margins. It has a raised base course, a lintel course beneath the corniced eaves, and pilastered quoins. The quoins are made of droved yellow sandstone, and there are droved long and short surrounds to the openings, along with projecting cills. The basement, rear, and sides are finished in random rubble.

On the elevation facing Columshill Street, there are steps leading to a replacement small-paned door located in the central bay. This door is topped with a corniced doorpiece featuring a block pediment and a raised keystone. There are single windows flanking the door at ground level, and single windows in all bays on the first floor. The outer left and right bays have single slate-hung dormers, and there are rooflights in the center. The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate, has raised skews, and features corniced rendered apex stacks at both the north and south ends, along with various circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1996.
