4 Columshill Place, Rothesay, Bute

4 Columshill Place is a mid-19th century, two-storey house with an attic, featuring a near-symmetrical, four-bay design in a plain classical style. It is part of a terrace and was rehabilitated in 1983. The exterior is constructed from coursed cherry-cocked rubble sandstone with raised, polished margins. Notable architectural features include a raised base course, a lintel course, and strip quoins. The quoins are made of stugged grey and yellow sandstone, which also frames the openings with stugged surrounds and projecting cills. The basement and sides are finished in random rubble.

On the south elevation facing Columshill Place, there is a replacement small-paned door located in the penultimate bay to the outer left. The remaining bays feature single windows on both the ground and first floors, while the outer left and right bays have three-light slate-hung canted dormers. The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate, has raised skews, and features corniced rendered apex stacks on the east and west sides, along with various circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1996.
