26-28 Columshill Street, Rothesay

26-28 Columshill Street is a mid-19th century, two-storey house with an attic, designed in a plain classical style. It forms the end of a terrace and features a projecting central stair tower at the rear, with entrances at both the front (No 28) and rear (No 26). The building is constructed of random rubble sandstone with raised, polished margins. It has a raised lintel course, droved rubble quoins, and droved rubble surrounds for the openings, along with projecting cills. The sides are also finished in random rubble.

On the east elevation facing Columshill Street, there is a replacement small-paned door in the central bay at ground level, with single windows flanking it. The first floor has single windows in all bays, and there are three-light slate-hung canted dormers in the outer left and right bays.

The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case types. The roof is covered with graded grey slate, featuring raised skews and corniced rendered apex stacks at both the north and south ends, along with various circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1996.
