Description
4 Castle Street in Banff is a building constructed between 1850 and 1860. It is a tall, three-storey structure with a dormerless attic and features a regular two-bay gable end facing the street, although the rest of the building is obscured by a later construction. The exterior is made of coursed squared rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. The entrance is a doorway flanked by a window, and the first and second floors have a regular arrangement of timber sash and case windows with four-pane glazing. There are also two small blocked lights in the attic. The building has a moulded cornice at the apex of the stack, flat skews with shaped skewputts, and a slate roof.
