Description
Circa 1770 3-storey, 5-bay regular street frontage with return gable to Castle Lane and 3-storey and attic rear wing. Harled with ashlar margins, harled gable, rubble rear.
Wide segmental-headed keystoned pend arch with blocked imposts in S outer bay closed with plank doors. Shallow pilastered and corniced entrance in bay 2; 3 ground floor windows. Regular lst and 2nd floor fenestration with timber sash and case windows; longer lst floor windows mainly with 12-pane glazing; l blind window in 2nd floor, mainly 9-pane glazing.
Corniced end and ridge stacks; corrugated asbestos roofs. Centre court reached by pend.
Interior: room in rear wing with early 19th century simple plaster cornice and beaded panelled doors and window shutters. Staircase with simple wooden balusters and decorative 19th century coloured glass inset to window. Substantial barrel-vaulted cellar.
