Description
6-8 George Street in Paisley is a building dating from around 1840. It is a three-storey structure with an attic and features eleven bays, constructed from ashlar stone.
The building has a base course and an architraved doorpiece with a consoled cornice, along with a blocking course located to the right of the centre. A later pend has been inserted in two bays on the right, which includes twelve-pane windows that are all rebated and cilled.
There is an eaves cornice and a blocking course at the top of the building. The roof is slate-covered and includes a continuous slate-hung dormer across the eleven bays, with a corniced stack at one end. The rear of the building is made of rubble with ashlar margins.
