St George's Parish Church, 18 George Street, Paisley

St George's Parish Church, located at 18 George Street in Paisley, was designed by architect Wm Reid in 1819 and later reordered by J A Rennison in 1874. The church has a rectangular plan with quadrant corners on the front and a semi-octagonal apse at the rear, all constructed of ashlar stone.

The front elevation features a tetrastyle giant Ionic pilaster order topped with a pediment, and the entablature extends over the quadrants. There are three doors and round-headed windows at the ground floor, which are flat to the gallery of the front and quadrants, with architraves and a continuous moulded cill course. The sides of the church are five bays long, adorned with round-headed windows and a band course above the ground floor. The eaves cornice and blocking course add to the architectural detail. The semi-octagonal apse at the rear mirrors the style of the sides, but the upper windows are longer, with three treated as blind panels. The church is topped with a slate roof.
