Stanley Hotel, 39, 40 Regent Quay, Aberdeen

The Stanley Hotel, located at 39 and 40 Regent Quay in Aberdeen, is a commercial and residential building dating from the later 18th century. It stands three stories tall with an attic and features three bays. The building has undergone later alterations, which include recessed doorways with Roman-Doric columns. It is constructed from grey granite ashlar with raised margins and has a moulded eaves cornice.

To the left, there is a wide, gated passage, while to the right, two doorways flank a fixed-pane window that is non-traditional and has astragalled detailing. The building also has a pair of later dormers with piended roofs. The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case style, and the roof is covered with grey slate. Broad, harled gable stacks and cast-iron rainwater goods complete the exterior.
