Description

A typical 19th-century bridge carries Lurgancahone Road over the Clanrye River, situated north of Lurgancahone Road. The bridge consists of a single, oblique segmental arch constructed from random granite rubble with dressed granite voussoirs. Large coping stones define the parapets. The underside of the arch (soffit) has been heavily repointed with cement. The carriageway is slightly humped. The bridge was shown on an Ordnance Survey map from 1834 and likely dates from the early 19th century, falling within the period of 1800 to 1819. It is of industrial archaeological interest.
