Description
This is a small-scale bridge dating from approximately the mid-19th century, likely constructed between 1840 and 1859. It carries a one-and-a-half lane road over a stream via a single segmental arch. The bridge is built of roughly faced squared sandstone rubble, with the parapets coped with finely dressed blocks of a slightly paler sandstone. The parapets terminate in slightly advanced piers, and the copings are rounded. A small pipe runs across the upstream (west) face of the bridge. The bridge first appears on the 1857 Ordnance Survey map. While not of exceptional architectural merit, it possesses some industrial archaeological interest.
