Description
This is a single-storey, three-bay vernacular house located near the southern boundary of the Errasallagh Townland in County Fermanagh. The house is aligned east-west and dates from approximately 1820 to 1839. It is shown on the 1834 Ordnance Survey six-inch map.
The house has a pitched corrugated metal roof with two yellow brick chimneys, one situated on the party wall between each bay. A timber eaves board is present, and rainwater goods have been removed. The walls are lime-rendered rubble stone and have been whitewashed. All cills are stone. The principal, south-facing elevation features a windbreak porch to the left of the central bay, constructed of squared rubble stone with a flat stone roof and a timber glazed and panelled door. A two-over-two sliding sash window is situated to the right of the porch. The left and right bays each contain a metal-framed top-hung casement window at centre; the window on the right bay is a two-over-two sash. The left and right gables are unrendered and blank. The gable on the right side displays ghost marks indicative of a lower outbuilding that previously had a pitched roof. The rear elevation is built into a bank and is unrendered, with a single one-over-one sliding sash window in the central bay. The building is of vernacular design and retains many original internal features. It forms a pleasant feature on the roadside.
