Description
Mullans, Rosslea, is the site of a demolished house. While a house existed on this land before 1834, the structure recorded in the valuation revision book appeared in 1894 and took the form of a one-and-a-half storey dwelling. A 1987 survey card describes the building as a three-bay dwelling with two brick chimneys. The roof was primarily natural slate, with a remainder of asbestos slate; it had cast-iron rainwater goods. The walls were wet dashed and painted, punctuated by four windows, each with six panes in white sliding sash windows and concrete sills. A sheeted front door was fitted with a fanlight above. The building’s construction likely occurred between 1880 and 1899. The vernacular character of the building is notable.
