Description
This cottage, located at 25 Vicarage Road in Minehead, dates from the 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of cob with a painted rubblestone left gable end and features a thatched roof that is hipped to the right. A tall rubblestone lateral stack at the rear right was rebuilt around 1993 in a similar style, and there is also a brick stack at the rear left. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a two-window range. The right-of-centre entrance consists of a planked door from the 19th century, flanked by tall three-light casement windows with small panes that were added in the late 20th century. Above the door and to the left, there are similar but smaller windows set in one continuous half-dormer. The windows on the rear and right side are also late 20th-century replacements. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have a crossbeam in the main room.
