Description
These shops and houses date from around 1800. They are built with a rendered exterior, marked to resemble brickwork, and have a plain tile roof. The building is three storeys high, with four bays of flush-mounted sash windows featuring glazing bars. A shopfront was inserted in the 20th century into number 19. Number 21 has a shopfront dating to the mid-19th century. This includes a central doorway in a moulded stone surround with a half-glazed door, flanked by four-light shop casement windows on either side. A narrow moulded cornice sits above the doorway, supported by four shaped brackets. The shopfront is further distinguished by panelled pilasters to the sides, and a larger cornice on fluted consoles. The buildings are listed primarily for their group value.
