Description

This is a pair of houses located at 1 and 3 Tipcote Hill, dating from around 1700 and refronted around 1800. They are constructed of limestone rubble, rendered, with slate roofs and coped verges featuring brick stacks. The buildings are two storeys tall with an attic, each having one and two bays. They have 12-pane sash windows set in reveals, except for a late 19th-century shopfront in No. 1. The central entrance features a pair of semi-circular head doorways, each flanked by fluted Ionic pilasters. Both houses have contemporary six-panelled doors with fanlights above.
