Description

Waterloo Bridge is a bridge dated 1826, designed by Charles Wainwright. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features an offset broad segmental arch with dressed voussoirs and imposts, which is set on a plinth. There is a string course at the base of the parapet, and the walls are buttressed to support the elevated road approaches. The parapets are topped with segmental coping, and each end is finished with square pillars that have pyramidal coping stones.
