Description
No 1 and 3 Waterloo Road are two houses, now converted into flats, built around 1850. They feature roughcast exteriors that are scribed to imitate ashlar stone, with ashlar corner pilasters. The buildings have a low-pitched hipped slate roof with wide bracketed eaves and a central brick chimney stack. Designed in the Italianate style, each house is four storeys high and has two bays, with sash windows that include glazing bars set in moulded surrounds. Each house has a square-headed door opening with a moulded architrave on either side; the door to the right is now blocked, while the left side has a two-panelled door. There is a two-storey slate-roofed wing set back on each side, with the right wing featuring a broad segmental archway with a keystone and a pair of half-glazed doors.
