Description

No. 18 on Tipcote Hill is a house built around 1770, featuring a roughcast exterior and a pantile roof with coped verges and brick stacks. This Georgian town house stands three stories tall and has a single bay. It retains its original 16-light sash windows, which are set in moulded stone surrounds. The entrance is particularly striking, with a semi-circular headed architrave that is flanked by panelled pilasters. These pilasters support a broken pediment adorned with fluted consoles and floral decoration, leading to a six-panelled door with a fanlight above. The building also has end pilasters and moulded coving along the eaves.
