Description
No. 2 is a house built at a right angle to the road, with a shop located at the rear right, situated on Combeland Road in Alcombe. It dates from the early 19th century and was altered around 1980, featuring a late 19th-century rear wing. The exterior has painted render over rubblestone, a crested slate roof, and brick stacks at the gable ends and rear wing. The building has a double-depth plan with a long curved rear right wing and stands two storeys high with a three-window range. The 19th-century rear wing includes three horned 2/2-pane sash windows on the first floor, a wide segmental arch leading to a 3-light plate-glass shop window on the ground floor to the right, and a door with an overlight, which is glazed at the top and has two bolection-moulded panels at the base, to the left. An early 19th-century eight/eight-pane sash window is located to the left, flanked by 20th-century windows. The interior has not been inspected. The property also features a tall rubblestone wall extending approximately 15 meters to the left, which includes an early 19th-century tall iron gate with long and short railings.
