Description
3 and 5 Combeland Road are two houses, likely built in the 18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century and around 1980. The exterior features painted render over rubblestone and a crested slate roof with brick stacks on the party wall and the right gable end. The houses have a double-depth plan and are two storeys tall.
No. 3, on the left, has a single-window range and features a 20th-century cantilevered two-light bay window on the first floor, above a simple 19th-century fascia that supports a plate-glass shop window with three panes. There is a recessed 20th-century door to the right of the shop window.
No. 5 has a two-window range and includes 19th-century horned two-over-two pane sash windows at the eaves level on the first floor, and one sash window to the right on the ground floor. In the centre, there are two doors beneath a slate lean-to porch; the right door has two glazed upper panels, while the left door is blocked by a mid-20th-century window. The interiors have not been inspected. The houses are included for their group value.
