CUCKLINGTON CP Portion of South boundary wall with gateway 20 metres South of Church of St Lawrence, and adjoining whirligig

Boundary wall with gateway. Early C19. Local stone coursed rubble with ashlar piers, wrot iron gate, wooden whirligig. Wall average 2 metres high, returning Westward; gate piers about 500 mm square plain ashlar, with slightly moulded tops, with plain iron rod arch over and linking them, as lamp bracket; heavy wrot iron gate with barbed arrowhead spikes; to West timber whirligig with plain post and cruciform horizontal "wheel". In a prominent position and important in the setting of Church of St Lawrence (qv) and Church House (qv).
