Description
Cucklington House is a former rectory built in the early 19th century, possibly involving the reshaping of an earlier structure. The building is made of local stone that has been rendered, colourwashed, and lined with ashlar. It features a hipped shallow pitch clay tile roof and brick chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and has three bays.
On the east facade, there is a plinth and a band course. The windows are 12-pane sashes set in plain openings, with those on the ground floor placed in segmental arched recesses. The central porch is one storey high, glazed, and has fluted corner pilasters, a Regency style top, and ornamental fanlights on both the outer and inner doors, topped with a flat roof.
To the north side, there is a lower but matching two-storey three-bay extension, and a small greenhouse is located behind a wing wall at the south gable. The interior features a Regency style hall that has seen little alteration.
