Description

Homers Farm House is a house of 16th-century origins. It is constructed of stone rubble with exposed timber lintels and has a thatched roof with plain gables. Brick chimney stacks are also present. The house is arranged in an ā€˜L’ shape, with two storeys and a single-storey attic, and has an irregular pattern of windows. Some windows are timber-framed with leaded lights, including windows of 18th-century design. A modern single-storey extension has been added to the South West gable, featuring an entrance door and a plain casement window. Another door is located in the South East wing, alongside a 9-pane sash window. A mounting block with steps is situated against the South East gable. The interior has not been inspected, however, it contains a variety of chamfered beams with run-out stops, evidence of former doors and partitions, and early roof trusses. The building is of group value.
