Description
The gate piers and boundary wall in front of the Chapel of St Lawrence, likely built in the mid-18th century, are constructed from stone rubble with red-brick piers and copings. The structure features a five-bay design, with a sixth bay returning to the right. It has square piers topped with moulded pyramidal caps that are positioned between and flanking the bays. The walls within the bays are adorned with curved copings resembling festoons. The gate piers on the left are slightly taller than the others. The gates and railings set into the walls appear to date from the 19th and 20th centuries, while the lamp above the gates looks to be from the 19th century. A flight of semi-circular granite steps leads up from the street.
