Description

The Old Armoury is an early 19th-century house located on the west side of St Lawrence Lane in Ashburton. The front elevation is rendered and lined to resemble stonework, while the right-hand side wall is of exposed stone rubble. The roof is hipped and covered in slate, with a large stone chimney on the right gable. The house is three storeys high and two windows wide, with a doorway to the left of the ground-floor windows. The double doors have six flush panels, set within matching reveals, a moulded architrave, and a projecting entablature. The windows are 6-paned sashes, except for the third-floor window, which has only three panes in the upper sash. A deep, bracketed eaves cornice runs along the top of the building.
