Tollhouse. 1838-9. Limestone dressings to whole flint facade and rubblestone returns; thatched roof with central diagonal stack. Single storey, 2-window range. Front, facing east, is a canted bay with pointed window arches flanking studded wooden door in pointed arch. Returns have pointed-arched windows toward front and square windows toward rear, west. All windows are shuttered. Thatched hipped roof has wide boarded eaves supported by rustic posts. INTERIOR not inspected. This road was built as a loop at a lower gradient than the former road.
