Description
Pond Farm House is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some modifications. It is constructed of local stone coursed rubble and features a half hipped plain clay tile roof with brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys with an attic and consists of five bays. Bays two and four are set in almost full height semi-circular arched recesses. The windows in bays one, three, and five are 12 and 8 pane sash windows. Bays two and four have doorways with architraved surrounds and open segmental pediments, although the doorway in bay four has been partially blocked with a sash window. Above these doorways are circular windows with cross glazing bars. To the right of bay five, there is a boarded door in a heavy frame. Inside, there is a mix of 18th-century details, including a first-floor corridor partition with six-panel doors, a staircase that appears to date from around 1800 but does not fit the original plan, and other features that may have resulted from significant reshaping in the early 20th century.
