Description
The Post Office is a 19th-century house with a shop located on the east side of High Street in Henstridge. It is constructed of local stone coursed rubble and features a shallow pitched Welsh slate roof with abutments and brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays. It includes 12-pane sash windows that are set flush, with the outer lower windows not aligned with those above. The central shop front has two angled bays containing 3+2+3 panes on either side of a recessed part-glazed door, which matches the windows, all under a continuous fascia with a lead flat roof. The interior has not been seen. This building has served as the village post office since at least 1875, although the house itself predates this.
