Description

This is a cottage, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble, with a colourwashed finish, and has a roof of stone slates, with artificial slates on the east slope. The gables are plain, and there are stone chimney stacks. The west-facing elevation, which is three bays wide and set at a right angle to the road, features two-light leaded casement windows. The upper portions of these windows are in old frames with wrought iron opening frames. The lower portions have been renewed. A projecting porch with a stone slate roof is located in the second bay, and it has a pointed arch doorway on its side. To the left of the roof, between the bays, is an upper semi-circular arched window. A single-bay extension with a double Roman clay tile roof is attached to the north gable. The south gable features a two-light casement with pointed arched lights and ornamental leaded panes at the upper level, covered by a timber lintol. The interior of the cottage was not inspected.
