Description
Snarehill Hall is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and consists of five bays, with the central bay being wider and projecting four inches. The entrance is marked by a simple pilastered doorcase that reaches up to the first floor and encloses an arched fanlight. On the ground floor, there are two sash windows on each side, which have glazing bars, square heads, rubbed brick lintels, and projecting sills. The first floor has five identical windows. The ground floor windows retain their original glass. The eaves cornice features console dentils. The roof is hipped and bell-based, with scattered stacks visible on the skyline.
To the east, there is an early 19th-century three-bay addition that has identical windows, with three on the ground floor and two on the first floor, all beneath a hipped tile roof. An early 19th-century portico made of cast iron extends the entire length of the facade and has a console dentiled cornice under a flat roof.
Additionally, there is a northwest range from the early 19th century, built of flint with gault brick dressings and a hipped pantile roof. This range has two storeys and originally featured five doorways, though only four remain. It has small windows under segmental arches with brick surrounds between the doors, all of different sizes. On the first floor, there are two remaining windows, one sash and one casement, along with three blocked windows. The eaves cornice is also dentiled, and there are two central ridge stacks.
