Description
Snarehill Hall Barn is a barn dating from around 1700. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, with brick infilling on the north side. The roof is covered with pantiles, while the east wall is built of flint and the west wall is made of brick. The north entrance has brick infill between closely spaced studded posts, with rails that rise to full height. A segmental timber lintel supports the swept roof overhang. There is a later single-storey outshut to the east, which has one door. The south and west walls are weatherboarded, with the south side featuring three doors from the 20th century. Inside, the east wall has the roof line of a church that once occupied the site. The barn has a single-aisled interior with heavy braced timber posts and arched braces supporting six tie beams. Clasped purlins and collars are present on the principal rafters. The interior is now divided by a timber partition to the east and a stone wall to the west.
