Description

No. 2 High Street is a cottage dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features roughcast over random rubble and has a slate roof that is hipped on the wing adjoining No. 1 Church Street. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high, with a symmetrical arrangement of one bay on each side. The windows include two- and three-light hollow chamfered stone mullions with leaded casements. There is a canted bay window on the ground floor to the right, which has three lights and is topped with a moulded cornice and parapet. A two-light window is located on the return of the ground floor, with a two-light window above it. The entrance is on the left side, featuring a four-panel door. There is also a decorative wrought iron bracket on the first floor to the right. The interior has not been viewed, but it is reputed to have been a coffee house at one time.
