Description

Harford House is a house featuring an 18th-century facade built onto the front of two earlier cottages. The construction incorporates roughcast over random rubble, with pantiled roofs. The right-hand two bays have a steep pitch and brick stacks at the gable ends, while the left-hand two bays have a shallower pitch, coped verges, and project slightly. A parapet features a cavetto moulded cornice, which was damaged at the time of the survey in September 1983.

The building has a two-storey, two-bay configuration, with 12-pane sash windows. The entrance is located between the first and second bays on the right side, and is topped by a limestone pediment supported by console brackets. The jambs of the pediment are flat and decorated with an incised circular motif, leading to a six-panel raised and fielded door. A single-storey pantiled addition to the right incorporates a curved wall and features a six-panel raised and fielded door with a brick surround and keystone. A long wing extends from the rear of the building. The interior was not inspected at the time of listing. A photograph is held within the National Monuments Record.
