Description
Parsons Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 5 meters southeast of the porch of the Church of the Holy Cross. It likely dates from the early 17th century and is made of Doulting stone. The monument features a crude, heavy moulded base on a step, with plain slab flanks and ends, and deep cyma recta coving to the flat top. It commemorates members of the Parsons family, with flank inscriptions that are badly weathered. There is an inscription on the east end dedicated to John Parsons, who died in 1817.
