Description

The building is a house and shop, originally from the 18th century and modified over time. It is constructed from roughly cut and squared ham stone with ashlar dressings, topped by a Welsh slate roof that has stone slate base courses continuous with the adjoining houses. A stone slab chimney stack with a traditional baffle is present. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. The windows are hollow chamfered mullioned types set in chamfered recesses, all three-light with inserted steel casements, featuring a label above the lower bay 2. The lower bay 1 serves as the shopfront, which is a simple bay window with an ashlar stall-riser and a boarded door to the right, covered by a lean-to clay tiled roof that has a 300mm deep fascia. Additionally, there is a letter box set into the base of the lower window bay 2. To the right of this, positioned about 300mm away from the house, is a K6 pattern telephone call box.
