Description
This building is a shop and house dating from the 18th century, located adjacent to the east of the Post Office in Ditcheat Village. It features Flemish bond brickwork with blue headers and red stretchers, along with freestone dressings, including quoins and coped verges. The roof is covered with triple-Roman tiles and has brick stacks. The structure is L-shaped, with a long wing to the left that has a front-facing gable. It is two storeys tall with an attic and has one bay on the roadside elevation. The windows are 2-light casements with wooden lintels, and there is a long rectangular 2-light casement on the ground floor with close-set glazing bars and a wooden hood supported by brackets. Similar casements are found on the right return of the wing, and there is a late 20th-century half-glazed door. A further bay is set back to the right. Attached to the left is a single-storey shop that conforms to the same style, although it was added in the mid to late 19th century. This shop features a large 6-pane sash window and a half-glazed door.
