Description
This is an 18th-century house that was altered in the 19th century and served as a post office. It is located in Ditcheat village. The building is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with coped verges and a triple-Roman tile roof, featuring brick stacks. The building has an “L” plan. The upper floors have 2:2 bays of one, two, and three-light casement windows. A 6-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed, is located in the angle between the two wings. The right wing has a double shop front to the ground floor, with large six-pane casement windows on either side of a half-glazed door. The shop front is finished with pilasters, a blank signboard, a cornice, and a lead capping, with a rolling-blind to the right. A single-storeyed outshut extends to the extreme right, featuring a 20th-century shop front.
