Description
The obelisk located on the roadside in the grounds of The Priory dates from the mid-19th century and incorporates fragments from medieval and later periods. It is constructed from coursed and squared lias and carved freestone, and has a square base. The structure consists of three stages: a plinth at the bottom, a second stage that is set back and features carved pinnacles at each corner, and a top stage that includes part of a reused former column topped with an acanthus finial.
