Description
The granary located in the grounds at the rear of The Priory is an 18th-century structure. It features a plinth made of coursed and squared lias with brick dressings and a freestone drip. The superstructure is timber-framed with brick nogging and stucco, topped with a pyramidal tile roof that has stone tiles at the eaves. The granary is plain in style and square in plan, standing on a raised plinth. Each face has semi-circular head openings, and there are two rubble steps leading up to the south entrance. The entrance includes a broad flush-panelled door framed by a wooden architrave, and there are small rectangular shuttered ventilators positioned high up at eaves level on each face. This granary is a very good complete example of its type.
