Description

The Ditcheat War Memorial is a war memorial erected around 1919, made from carved limestone. It has an octagonal shape and features a three-stepped base topped with an octagonal plinth. The plinth supports a tapering shaft with a moulded top and a stylised wheel-head cross. The front (west) face of the plinth bears the inscription: "THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN MEMORY OF/ THE HEROES/ OF THIS PARISH/ WHO FOUGHT AND FELL/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914–1918." Additionally, a plaque at the base of the plinth is inscribed with the words: "WE WILL REMEMBER THEM."
