Description
15 Chilkwell Street is a building dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is two storeys high and features painted roughcast walls with a pantile roof and a parapet. The building has a string course and two windows, which are fitted with sashes in plain reveals and thin glazing bars. On the ground floor to the right, there is a later rectangular bay window with a dentilled cornice and five lights. To the left, there is a round-headed doorway with a semi-circular fanlight that has tracery, leading to a six-panel door.
This building is part of a group that includes Nos 3 and 5, as well as the listed buildings from No 3 to No 17 on the north east side, Glastonbury Abbey, Abbey House, and the wall surrounding the grounds of the Abbey and Abbey House, all of which form an important architectural group.
