CHILKWELL STREET (north east side) No 5

GV II On a corner site facing south. Early C19. Two storeys. Stucco with some exposed ashlar. Moulded cornice and parapet. Hipped slate roof. Quoin pilasters. Part of south elevation breaks forward. Three windows. Mostly sashes, some glazing bars. Two ground floor splayed bays of three-lights each, one with wrought-iron balustered parapet to first floor. Doorway has Tuscan porch with entablature, rectangular fanlight and half-glazed door.

Nos 3 and 5 form a group; also the listed buildings from No 3 to No 17 (on the north east side), Glastonbury Abbey (see Magdalene Street), Abbey House, Wall around grounds of the Abbey and Abbey House, all form an important group.
