Description
Nos 43 and 45 Chilkwell Street is a building with two properties that has its origins in the late medieval period, although it has been altered since then. The structure is two storeys high and features a colourwashed stone front and a pantile roof with a very steep pitch, which may still contain original timbers. There is an eaves cornice present. No 45 has a moulded stone stringcourse at the first-floor level and part of a plinth, along with a single moulded stone bracket built into the front. The building has two windows, which include sashes with glazing bars and one three-light casement window at No 45. Additionally, No 45 features a moulded stone doorway with a four-centred head. Inside, there are surviving timber beams.
