Description
Nos 4 and 6 Old Market Place is a building dating from the 17th to 18th century. It features a roughcast exterior and a moulded eaves cornice, topped with a black glazed pantile roof that has gable ends. The structure is two storeys high with an attic and has five windows, which are sashes with glazing bars set in exposed casings.
The central doorway is adorned with a moulded architrave and pediment, leading to a fielded-panel door with glazed top panels. There are three old gabled dormers; the outer two have horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars, while the centre dormer contains a casement window with glazing bars. Brick chimney stacks are present on the building. The doorway to No 4 is located on the right and features fluted pilasters, a simple hood on shaped brackets, a rectangular fanlight, and a panelled door.
