Description

This is an early 19th-century building on the west side of Old Market Place in Harleston. It is constructed of red brick with a low-pitched slate hipped roof, featuring small paired brackets to the eaves. The building has two storeys and five windows, with the three leftmost windows projecting. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within flat rubbed brick arches. A central first-floor window is blind, while the ground-floor window on the right has been replaced by a modern top-opening light. A large, early to mid-19th century shop is present, characterised by fluted narrow pilasters, an entablature with a cornice, and a central entrance. To the right of the entrance is a doorway within a round-headed recess, above which is a semi-circular fanlight containing radial bars. There is a panelled door.
