Description

Lantern Cottage is a building with origins dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, which has undergone significant alterations. It is constructed of painted brick, with the north side partly faced in later brick. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with black glazed pantiles, featuring gabled ends. The cottage is two storeys high, with the end facing the road having one window on the first floor, which is a 19th-century sash without glazing bars. The ground floor features a 19th or 20th-century splayed bay of sashes, also without glazing bars, and a modern doorway to the right. On the right-hand return (north), there are small sashes without glazing bars. A modern brick chimney stack is present.
