Description

The Market House, dating from the 17th century, is located on Church Street in Harleston. The building features a rendered first floor front designed to mimic timber-framing and has a pantile roof with gabled ends. It stands two storeys high and has three windows, which are 19th-century sashes without glazing bars. The ground floor includes a central brick splayed porch with a moulded doorcase and cornice, alongside a wide splayed bay to the left that also has a cornice and three sashes. There are two late 19th-century brick chimney stacks. Inside, the building has stop-chamfered beams.
