Description

The Post Office in Harleston is an early to mid 19th-century large red brick house that is both austere and stylish. It features a low-pitched hipped roof covered with black glazed pantiles and has overhanging eaves. A small pediment is located above the central projection of the building. The structure stands three storeys tall and has three windows, with the central section projecting and the windows set in recesses, flanked by full-height paired plain brick pilasters. The windows are sash style with glazing bars. The central doorway is pilastered and includes an entablature, a rectangular fanlight, and a panelled design.
