Description
This is a farmhouse built in the early 19th century, located about 10 meters northwest of Stapleton Croft. It is constructed from Ham stone near-ashlar and features a Welsh slate roof with stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and five bays. It includes three-light horizontal bar casement windows in plain openings, with iron framed central opening lights above, all under keystoned lintels. There is no window in the lower part of bay 2, and an extra lower window is found between otherwise blank bays 4 and 5, along with an additional single window to the right of bay 5. The lower section has a part-glazed six-panel door beneath a rectangular fanlight, set in an early 20th-century timber and tiled porch, which is a later addition at the rear. There is also a further door in the west gable. Although the interior has not been seen, there is a low stone wall about 2 meters north of the house, featuring twisted arrowhead railings and a matching gate opposite the door, with stone return walls that enhance the setting of the house and the streetscape.
